Benefits: Apart from rope, twine and general cordage sisal is used in buffing cloth, carpets, dartboards, mattresses, handicrafts and speciality paper. It is also surprisingly used as the fibre core of the steel wire cables of elevators, being used for lubrication and flexibility purposes.
